Stewart Guthrie has been playing guitar for about 25 years and apart from a short busking stint around Darwin is relatively new to performing. Early 2004, Stewart teamed up with some local Torquay players and formed 180knots, refining and writing songs that attracted some mild attention, the band made a big impact on the local music scene with high-energy shows and powerful songs. The debut CD sold surprisingly well and featured seven of Stewart’s songs.
2006 Stewart got the taste for solo performances, showcasing more melody and vocal lines, a pre-production demo was recorded and the album is on the way. Stewart’s first solo release single ‘Blood on my boots’ is a full on anti whaling anthem, classic vintage sound with up beat drums and hooks.
Stewart lives on the Surfcoast in Torquay, with his two children Tess and Charlotte, the lifestyle is relaxed and the surf is great.
